What do I need to get started?
- A video camera
- Capture device for transferring images
to the computer
- Software program for editing photos on
the computer
- Access to a computer with an Internet
connection
Which software program should I purchase?
Most computers have an image-editing program
within their operating system (i.e. Windows – Paint)
Other popular image-editing programs
include MGI and Photoshop.
Do I need a digital camera?
No, any camera will work but a digital
camera is optimal for quality of resolution
I have a VHS camcorder. How do I get the
photos into my computer?
You will have to purchase USB Digital Capture
Device such as D-Link DSB-V100.
What if my student doesn’t have a computer?
You can give them their password and they
can view their E-Lesson on any computer with Internet access.
How do I capture still images from video?
You will need a camcorder to capture the
pictures. Once the pictures are captured you will need a software program
(usually supplied with your camcorder) to select the desired pictures
and edit them.
How do my students receive their e-lesson?
You issue your students a password then
they are automatically e-mailed a link that will guide them directly
to their e-lesson.
What format do I save my pictures in?
Save them as JPG. See your software’s instructions
for details.
What size do I save my pictures?
Each template has pre-set size requirements.
See your software’s instructions for cropping, resizing or skewing details.
How do I know how many e-lessons I have
left?
After you send an e-lesson your inventory
will be updated and display your remaining balance.
Can my students view their e-lesson from
different computers?
Yes, e-lessons4sports is a web-based application.
All they need is a computer with Internet access, their user name and
password.
I’m at a facility with 6 other instructors.
How do I keep my students separate and have them see my personal contact
information when they view their e-lesson?
Each instructor
at a facility can create and deliver E-Lessons under the facility licensing
agreement or have their own individual environment within the facility's
agreement for an additional $50.
Any suggestions on selling the concept?
Complete several e-lessons and print them
onto photo paper. You can then make an E-Lesson display for your facility.
The visual appeal of the completed E-lessons, combined with the selling
feature of students being able to see every lesson they have ever taken,
is all it takes.
Where can I get an E-Lesson?
Coaches are listed in Find
A Coach on our home page by region. If there are no coaches in your
area, ask your favorite coach to come to our Website to get started.
What sports can I use this program for?
E-Lessons have applications in all sporting
events. See activities for more details.
